Project vs. Product

Although projects and products may seem like the same thing, they are very different.  A project is completed on a "one on one" basis with a particular customer in order to adapt a particular application to the specific needs of one unique business.  A product is an application that is already complete and able to be sold immediatly.  It includes, for example, all documentation and is "installation-ready".  Put simply, at the end of a project there will be a unique application sold, perfectly tailored to the buyer.  The product sold to one customer will be the same as that product sold to a different buyer.
